Isabella's Bonnets - HMQS Design Challenge

"Isabella's Bonnets"

I may have said this before, but I ♥ Riley Blake Designs.  Recently voted the 2011 FabShop Rising Star, the folks at Riley Blake and their incredible team of designers are making a difference in the quilting world.  Their company sponsored the 2011 Home Machine Quilting Show Design Challenge, supplying this year's fabric, "Isabella", designed by Lila Tueller.

The Midnight Quilters: Debra Proctor, Deonn Stott, Tricia Mathis
- with Collette @ Riley Blake Designs

23 teams participated in the challenge, including "The Midnight Quilters" ~ consisting of my friends Debbie and Tricia and myself.  At the awards night we sat in giddy surprise, seeing our quilt and hearing our names called as the first place winners! A-MAZING!! We giggled all the way to the podium!

At the end of the week, all the quilts in the challenge were sold at auction for the charity "Lifting Liberia" to help build schools in Africa. The auction brought in nearly $4,500. And even more amazing--our little quilt raised $850 for the cause, sold to a happy woman from Idaho.  Boy, do I love quilting--everyone wins!!
