  1. Am I really the first??? OOOO, how exciting. The day after our son moved out, I moved my sewing room into his old room! Yes, I know, it's a stereotype but it's a true!!

  2. My sewing space is in my sunroom next to the sliding glass door - so I can see my flowers and the sunlight, however, I can sure use a thread catcher cause I've got little threads and snips of fabric all over the rug!!! Thanks for the chance to win such a nice giveaway!

  3. My sewing room is a sewing corner in the basement recreation room...custom-designed by my wonderful hubby with cupboards, shelves, and a large sewing table made just for me! For Christmas, he is making me another set of shelves so I can be even more organized! Love my space!

  4. Thanks to Google Reader, I've been following your blog for a while now. My sewing space is easily explained. Imagine a very small space, where - due to an unexplained incident - a mountain of fabrics, batting, stuffing, buttons, thread, pins and needles has been now lives. I swear to you I have no idea where it all comes from! To see proof, check out my blog!

  5. Have been a follower for some time. Really enjoy your blog. The giveaway is great. My sewing space is anywhere I can find room to set up a card table. I stay with my elderly mom when I am not working and there isn't a lot of room for all my sewing stuff.

  6. My sewing space is a little corner in the bedroom used by my grandchildren, when they visit. We call the bedroom the monkey room and it is fun to look around at all the toys and drawings

    ReplyDelete
  7. My sewing area....Is the kitchen table. When my daughter moved out in '05, I was going to claim her room as my sewing room, but it has become a store room instead.

    ReplyDelete
  8. My sewing space is a corner of our basement family room - the corner form which I can see the whole room. I don't have a lot of furniture but I use an old computer armoir to store most of my stuff. When I need to break it all it down for the holidays, one of my machines tucks away in the CPU cubby.

  9. My sewing space is half of a house and a small upstairs bedroom for extra storage!! I'm very lucky to have all that space!

    ReplyDelete
  10. My sewing space is actually the "office" according to the house plans. I've been slowly getting it arranged/organized just "so" and I love it! (would kill for better lighting though--sadly, I'm not sure that's an option.)

    ReplyDelete
  11. I have a sewing room. It is fairly small so my sewing creeps out into other spaces, like one of the spare bedrooms. But the sewing room is a nice bright cheerful room and it is all my space!

    ReplyDelete
  12. How fun! I can't wait for all of the giveaways.
Thanks for a chance to win. I really need one of these.

  13. My sewing studio, actually a room but CA told us that it sounds better to use studio, is the largest bedroom in my house. Problem is that I am outgrowing it so my DH is planning on a 32 by 32 studio attached to the house.

    ReplyDelete
  14. my sewing space is new to me and while small had everything I needed but now its got a gracie queen frame in there it's a bit cramped, but my DH is building a room just for the frame when we continue to renovate our barn so Im getting a *frame room* so that I get more room in my sewing space...lovely hubby

  15. my craft room is a very small back room in my 'cottage', but i put together all these cupboards and made desks and shelves around the room for my computer and it's stuff, my sewing machine and it's stuff, my stash, books, yarn, etc., so that i have room for everything and still looks nice. pretty good job for a little old lady, if i do say so myself!

    ReplyDelete
  16. The best change I made in my sewing room this year was to put my cutting table on bed risers. Now that it is taller, it's so much easier on my back.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I took over the study...plenty of shelves to store the endless supply of fabric that keeps turning up in my doorstep!!!! Not sure where it comes from hehehehe

    ReplyDelete
  18. My sewing/crafting space is an absolute disaster. It drives my husband (the tidy one!) crazy. Piles and piles of supplies and scraps.

    ReplyDelete
  19. My sewing space is very limited. The room I use is a combination sewing room/office. I have to set up and take down my iron every day so that we have room to move about in the room. Someday we will convert the garage into a sewing craft room. I won't know what to do with all the space. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your great giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well, my sewing space, um I mean spaces. Ya see, I have a sewing room upstairs but I sew in the dining room. Guess I like to be near my little pups, and they like to be near me!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. My sewing space could do with a good tidy up!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Right now my sewing space is very organized! It has to be. I work on numerous projects at a time. Each project is in it's own container and like I always say, "It's only one more block a month!" Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I've taken over our guest room as my sewing room. The bed is still there and I am using it as my design board. Thanks so much for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  24. My sewing space is our dining room. Last night I spent a good hour clearing it out so it can be a dining room for Christmas again. *sigh* Soon I'll have to clean out the spare bedroom which has since become my sewing dumping ground. Now what?

    ReplyDelete
  25. My sewing space in a little corner of my family room. I try not to let get to out of control messy :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. How lovely... I am a follower and my sewing space is also my computer space... and it is a MESS

  27. I am a follower and my sewing space is a great place with two windows and a large cutting table . Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  28. About my sewing space...right now it's a MESS! Okay, it's usually a mess, because I'd rather sew than clean.

    ReplyDelete
  29. My quilting area is in the master bedroom under the south facing windows. This area has the best light, and the best view!

    ReplyDelete
  30. My sewing room is the coldest room in the house - on the northeast corner - and I have to have an extra heater in there. But it doesn't keep me from sewing. :) blessings, marlene

    ReplyDelete
  31. My sewing space(s)..I have a sewing room, which I just started to organize, it is where I have my supplies and my machine. I don't go there often though. Most often you will find me on my couch hand stitching in front of my television so that I can chit chat with hubby.

    ReplyDelete
  32. My sewing space is my daughter's old bedroom. When she left home I moved in and said, no coming back! LOL.

But now it is sooooo messy. Everything that has no place anywhere in the rest of the house now lives in a big pile in the middle of my sewing room. I guess I am the most "expendible" part of the house.

  33. My sewing space is all apart right now!! I have my desk in the living room. Hopefully I will have it back together soon!!!

  34. Merry Christmas, Deonn.

My sewing space just got down-sized!! It is also our spare bedroom and this weekend is our family celebration so I put away machines, collected fabric pieces, unfinished projects, thread, stabilizer, and STASHED them where ever I could find a spot. I mean...under the bed, in the closet, tucked away in the corner; I even opened the crawl space door and put things in there!!!! After an hour and a half, it hardly looks used - just don't look in my hidey places!! Follower, of course. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. My sewing space takes up a corner of the living room. One day I would like to have my own sewing room, but that would mean the kids would have to move out and I'm not quite ready for that yet. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am already one of your followers Deonn. That thread catcher is so cute! the perfect fabric.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Right now I sew on our dining table. Which is in our tiny little eating area that is part of the living room. I am working on creating a corner in my bedroom and hope to get it finished up after Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I used to have a room for all my craft needs, then my son moved back in. (I love having home again!) So now my sewing space is in the dining area, and my fabrics and tools are stashed everywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  39. My sewing room/studio is my daughter's old room. I bought shelves at Ikea and decked it out to fit all my fabric and tools. It really is my haven.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have a teeny tiny space in our basement with a regular old kitchen table for my sewing machine and cutting space - it works for me!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I am a new follower. As a quilt teacher I need as much space as possible and have converted a bedroom into a studio where I do all my sewing/desinging. As an art quilter as well I also have a log cabin in the garden, currently covered in snow, where I do all my fabric dyeing/painting and sew in the summer.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My sewing space is on my kitchen table, not that great when people want to eat there

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thank you for the giveaway. I sure could use it. Fortunately, I have a (small) sewing room, which is a mess right now. Trying to finish two quilts for Christmas: a Sudoku and your pattern, Modern Millie.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have carved out a corner in our family's bonus room for my sewing space.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I could always use more room in my quilting space. I have a cutting table and a sewing table and there's fabric everywhere of course.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm a follower! My sewing room (or should I say creative space) is my son's old room. He is already warning me he might move back home after graduation for awhile. My response - I'll throw a sleeping bag on the floor! lol I would love to win this thread catcher! sewingmom42(at)yahoo(dot)com.

    ReplyDelete
  47. What a pretty thread catcher. You can see photos of my sewing room on my flickr pages

    ReplyDelete
  49. I've been a follower since the Ghastlie's blog hop when the owl jumped off your head. My sewing space is the whole area under the loft where our bedroom is-basically 1/2 of our living room-and it is organized, sort of. Crowded, but organized or I'd never be able to get around in it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. My sewing studio is under construction right now. We are dry walling sections of the room, then we have to do the ceiling, flooring, walls, omg, too much to mention, but when it's finished, it will be the best room in the house! Thanks to my loving husband!

    ReplyDelete
  51. My sewing space is half the basement and filled with stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  52. My sewing room is in the basement of our house and although not ideal, it is 100% my space!

    ReplyDelete
  53. My sewing space is a folding table set up wherever I can squeeze it in our living room. I usually tape a plastic sack to the table to put my threads in, but this project is so much nicer to look at :) Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  54. i just added you to my google reader - fun! my sewing space? ahhhh... i'm so happy about it. we have spent the last few years finishing our basement, and i have a gorgeous, perfect sewing room in there! it's absolutely ideal. although there's threads all over the carpet!

    ReplyDelete
  55. my sewing space is in two different places - I have my large quilting frame for hand quilting in my daughters old tiny bedroom along with cutting table and sewing machines - and I have a basket in the living room where I hand piece and do applique.
    Love your give away.

  56. As of this evening my space is cleaned and straightened up. My studio/office is crowded with a Horn sewing table and in the corner a table for doing my work at home. At times it begins to look like a college dormitory room as I practically live in it. I have some pics on my blog if you want to take a peek.

    ReplyDelete
  57. my sewing area is my dining room table (I live alone so it just stays on there all the time lol) surrounded by threads all over the floor, so I desparately need this LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  58. My sewing room is tiny and at this moment is very messy. Cute kit I definitely use this little thread catcher in there. I'm a follower too.

  59. I have a sewing 'space/room' for the first time in my life, however it seems to be getting smaller and smaller as exercise equipment, misc overflow encompasses the room....

    ReplyDelete
  60. I enjoy reading your blog and have become a member. My sewing room is in need of organization. I'm always looking for ideas and inspiration. Your thread catcher would help to tame the chaos.

  66. I have room in our downstairs for my sewing room, next to my son's lg. playroom. At one time it seemed roomy to me, I'm not sure what happened? Are the walls of fabric covered shelves closing in on me? I remember at one time having floorspace, I wonder where it went.

    ReplyDelete
  67. My sewing room used to be my daughter's bedroom. I often think of her while I'm in there.

    ReplyDelete
  68. My sewing space is scattered around the house: sewing machine in the spare bedroom/computer room; cutting table is my dining room table; fabric storage in the living room & other spare bedroom; ironing board in the hallway. One day I hope to have one room dedicated for my sewing. Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  69. We just built our house so I actually got to design my sewing space. It has my computer desk in one corner, a large red cabinet with glass doors for my fabric, a huge cutting table with mat to fit, a book case for all my sewing books, and my sewing table. There are 4 sewing machines shoved in there, but as far as I know only 2 are working right now (2 were gifted from my mom and mil and I don't know if they work yet!)

I am a very lucky lady!

    ReplyDelete
  70. JUst joined your followers! My sewing room? hmmm....I did have one, but my son moved home (again) so everything has been moved and I am afraid it will be the dining room table for me...for a while anyway! Love your prize, will help keep things neat and tidy!

  71. I have a sewing corner in the basement. I have the big screen TV across from me, walk out to backyard and the floor is heated so I can't complain too much.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I'm already a follower! My "sewing room" right now is a table in the back of the living room. We're moving in 6 months and I'm looking for a house with a room of my own...but I think I'll miss being around everyone while I sew.

    ReplyDelete
  73. My sewing space is the laundry room. I enjoy it here as it has a wonderful light and having the ironing board next to me is very handy. Your cute Thread-Catcher/Pincushion kit would come very handy too :)

  74. My sewing space doubles as a dining room sometimes. I wish it could be a full-time studio, but on the plus side it is a nice big room with a giant table.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I have some of those 3 drawer stackers filled with fabric in my sewing room. Apparently, the drawers don't slide well when there is too much weight above the drawer. I slid out the bottom drawer and now I can't get it to slide back in. :(

  76. I have a small but very nice sewing room..when we moved to this house I was allowed to have it fixed up however I wanted. I have super bright lights, a very large cutting table with plenty of storage and drawers underneath, special shelves to hold my tubs of stash material and a custom made serger/featherweight table. I also have a Horn sewing quilters cabinet/table which holds my sewing machine and allows me to support a nice big quilt. I am blessed with such a sewing room!

  77. Just started following. I have my own sewing room. We added on to the house a couple of years ago, and one of the main purposes was to build me a sewing room. Can just close the door on the mess when I am done. Love it.

  80. This year we just converted our guest room to my dedicated sewing/quilting/yarn room. It's nice to have an area where I create. Just this weekend I was telling my friend that I wanted to make a thread catcher for my sewing table.

  91. My sewing room...lol.
Well last year I took over the guest room, painted it, renovated the whole room and moved in. It is cooold in the winter and very small for what I need. Half my stuff is stored in containers in a storage room.
so when the weather turned cold this fall, I moved into the Parlor of this old house where it is warm. We moved the living room into the dining room and the dining table in to the parlor for a quick temp. set up for the winter.

  96. My sewing area is what was originally the "formal living room" of which we have no need - so I took it! It's a large room which I over-crowded in about 10 minutes and now am trying to unclutter and have space to breathe in! I love having my own room and know I'm very fortunate.

    ReplyDelete
  97. when our last daughter left home, I turned her room into my sewing/craft room... but for my quilting machine which is huge, I have to set it up in the garage and it can get chilly out there making me not want to work there, wonder if anyone would miss the dining room table?? HUMMM

  100. I wasn't sure how to become a follower, so I liked your FB page. Hope that keeps me updated. :)
My sewing space is my too-small spare bedroom, it's a bedroom, sewing room, office, and it's barely big enough to be one of those things, much less three! Working on changing that though. Quilted blessings, Nita

    ReplyDelete
  104. I have a great space for sewing - a room just off the dining room, so it's fairly close to the kitchen. It has lots of windows and space, but unfortunately no closet. I love spending time there, but right now it is a wreck! It gets this way about this time every year when I go from project to project and leave trails of stuff everywhere. After the holidays I will definitely need to do a major clean-up.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I have all my supplies downstairs. But I sew in my den. I would love to have it all in one room.

This is so cute. I love the fabric. Have always wanted to make one of these.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I keep most of my supplies in the basement of my parents' house, as I am a college student and live in a large studio. But I do have a very stuffed bag of the necessities that I keep in my desk and pull out whenever I need to. I mostly work on the couch and at my desk. Thanks for the giveaway!

  107. I FINALLY got a sewing room after my son went off to university. It's taking me a long time to get it organized properly. At the moment, it looks like a tornado went through and I have one week to straighten things out before my son comes home for Christmas break.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I share a small room with a computer desk, a crafting table and then my sewing table so I sew in a space smaller than closet.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I quilt alot in our dining room though I do have a sewing room in which I quilt. I like to piece in the main part of the house where my husband is but I do have room that is full of fabric and a machine that I quilt on.

  110. My sewing space is supposed to be half of the study, with the 'office' taking up the other half. It was the remainder of a bedroom when we put stairs in for an upstairs extension. I have managed to take over about 3/4 of it and am working on the remaining floor and bench space!! I have a horn sewing table under the window, a bookshelf full of magazines and fabric boxes on one side and a wall unit of 3 book cases side by side on the other that are full of books, baskets and tubs overflowing with fabric, notions, patterns and magazines. I also have a hanging rack under the stair space. Now if I could only get the computer desk moved, I could have a lovely long cutting table and an ironing space!!! Thanks for your great giveaway

  111. My sewing space is an area in the living room. I like being in there when Hubs is watching TV.

  112. I'm following your blog. My sewing space started as one side of my downstairs office. It has slowly expanded, and now the entire downstairs is my sewing space. The long arm frame took over the TV room :^)

  114. My sewing/quilting area is a corner of the dining room table.
It gets to be a pain when I have to put everything away ea week for Sunday dinner but that is a custom I don't want to give up as that is when we all settle down and catch up with ea other.

  115. I'm already a follower. My quilting space is still very plain and boring.....because we just moved into our newly built house at the end of April and I have yet to figure out what to do with it. I hate the white walls. Hopefully that all will change very soon.

How are you liking your new machine?

But, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do to have her sewing space, right? The garage is unheated, but I have a space heater that helps drastically.

  121. I have to share my quilting space with my music teaching materials since I am currently a SAHM and do not have another office. I get cramped, but am thankful to have a room all to myself!

  124. Hi Deonn,

I just found your blog and I signed up for email updates. I have a craft room in the loft of our home. As always it is a work in progress. Not enough hours in the day. Right now my machine is set up on my Kitchen table. I love your thread catcher with pin cushion. It would be perfect for any craft room, but especially mine!!!!

  125. My sewing area is at one end of our rec room. I share with hubby's desk, my kids craft table and my work desk. It's not perfect, but it works well. :)

  127. My sewing/craft room is a mess right now. I am filling tote bags with small presents for children. My group, World of Charity Stitching, makes lap quilts, tote bags, pillows, walker/wheelchair bags and other items for seniors and children.
Thanks for a chance to win.
