Comfort & Joy! A Giveaway

Looking for a last-minute gift or decoration?

A little fabric, a few minutes, a couple of seams... Voila!

Ten-Minute Table Runner  TUTORIAL

It's always SEW fun and satisfying when you can make something quick and pretty.  See the photo Tutorial for this Terrific Ten-Minute Table Runner, part of a series of  "Comfort & Joy" December Tutorials put together by Madame Samm and our Sew We Quilt community.

I learned to make this quick cutie runner from my local 4-H Extension Agent, my friend Debbie.
I have a soft spot for the 4-H program.  As a kid, with my Mom as my 4-H leader, I learned to sew, cook, take pictures, memorize the names of trees and rocks, learned to draw, to eat with chopsticks, gave demonstrations, showed my horse, taught other little kids to cook and sew, and always won ribbons at the county and state fair.

When my own kids were old enough, we formed our own 4-H club.  Even my son is not afraid of a needle and thread, or knitting needles, for that matter!  At any rate, my kids are all comfortable with a sewing machine and in the kitchen.  My "3rDegree Bakery" girls were just 12 when they started selling breadsticks to the neighbors, "delivered hot to your table."

Good things come in threes!

I'm having a giveaway today, the 3rDegree Bakery's fabulous Home Cookin' recipe book and a scone mix, perfect for that quiet morning at home!

To play along, just leave a little note about your favorite home-cooked holiday dish.  Do you prepare a special meal?  I'll announce a winner at 8pm MST, Wednesday evening!

Meanwhile, Merry Christmas!!

  5. When I was away in college & came home for Christmas that first year, my Mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas dinner. I said Chinese (this was decades before A Christmas Story). So she made a wonderful Chinese feast that she repeated each of my college years. It's still my favorite meal ever. Thanks for the chance to win.

  6. Our breakfast every Christmas morning is my 24-hour omelet. I put it in the oven when we are ready to open presents. When we are finished, so is the omelet. It is the only time we all sit down together for breakfast. It is always my favorite Christmas memory.

  10. I never knew it while they were living at home with us, but my twins were pretty fond of my homemade coconut maccaroons. I used food coloring to turn them green & added red-hot candies & clumped them to look like holly leaves, and one year I didn't make them.....boy, you should have heard the ruckus they raised!

  28. Our Christmas dinner couldn't be easier-prime rib & steamed shrimp with baked potatoes. It's gotten so I don't even fix much else to go with as all anybody ever eats is the meat & the fish! Devilled eggs & dinner rolls is as hard as it gets.
