Christmas in July

Time to think about Christmas?

Thanks to Madame Samm of SewWeQuilt, let's "Think Christmas" and get an early start on  creative inspiration...

My first exposure to "Christmas in July" came when I worked a couple of summers between college semesters as a chef/waitress at Signal Mountain Lodge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. They held a big prime rib dinner for all the employees - we dressed up, sang carols, even exchanged gifts. Then we took an exhilarating midnight swim in glacier-fed Jackson Lake.

Great memories.... I still smile about my "granola days" at the lodge. Made my own yogurt, brought a sewing machine and sewed my own clothes those summers in the wilderness.  Learned to rock-climb, hiked up the face of the Grand Tetons. Woke up every day to this view:

OK, now back to Christmas in July... as of today, there are only 147 days until Christmas!  I've even received several orders from quilt shops for my tree skirt pattern this month!  Hope you can join the hop, it will be my turn on August 3rd!  Meanwhile... I'll be dreaming about the summers of my youth in Jackson Hole...
