Going on tour... ♫ ♪

I love to sing just as much as I love to quilt.

I have the privilege of singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and we're heading out on tour tomorrow to six cities in the upper Midwest, USA.  Are we coming to a town near you?

Going on Tour
I love being a part of this incredible group of musicians - around 600 of us, all volunteers.  It's been an amazing year for me!  If you ever find yourself in Salt Lake City on a Thursday evening or Sunday morning, you are always welcome to come to a live rehearsal or weekly broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word.  More info here:  mormontabernaclechoir.org.

As for quilty adventures while on tour, I'll be taking along a few hand-stitching projects (hexagami) for the plane and bus rides.  I'll also be on the lookout for Barn Quilts--I've only ever seen ONE, and I know they're out there! And who knows?  Maybe we'll have a little free time to visit a quilt shop here and there.   :)

Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!

  1. You are coming to my city tomorrow night! I am so sad... we weren't able to get tickets, but I am babysitting for a good friend so that she can go. I'll get the play by play from her. I hope you have a wonderful time on tour. I loved seeing a glimpse of you at Conference in April! :)

    1. Rachel! Thanks for letting your friend come to the concert - I'm so excited to sing there. We fly in, we sing, we catch buses to the next city afterward, so no time to visit (or look for a quilt shop!), but I'll be thinking of you!

  2. That is so wonderful! You will be coming my way in September with the Riley Blake group, but not even close with the choir. Have a great time!

  3. Deonn, I didn't know you were a member of the choir. I don't know how you do it all. Have a good tour.

  5. I was lucky enough to have seen the choir perform a couple years ago here in Cincinnati. Neil Armstrong was there to recite a reading and I believe it was Erich Kunzel's last performance as director before he succumbed to cancer. It was quite an evening.
    Be safe in your travels.
