ReplyDeleteWow, just wow. I just bought an EZ Dresden ruler last week and can't wait to try it out.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first looked at this fabulous pillow I thought, "That doesn't look like the blades the EZ Dresden plate ruler makes." Then I realized that your quilting had totally transformed the look. It really makes the blades look less angular and more rounded. I just love your pillow. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeletethe quilting on this is fabulous. it totally transforms the look of the dresden. wanna give any hints as to how you did this?

Cindi, I used a curved ruler to quilt this on my longarm. I used the seams on the dresden at the base of the wedges to gage where I started the arc, quilting to the top of the seamline two wedges away, and back down to the base, another two wedges away. I continued until it met up with the beginning stitches, then moved over one wedge and quilted another series. Easy to do on a longarm or home machine. If you don't have a longarm, you could mark the curves with a large plate or pan lid, then stitch.
