She's a big girl now...

Woohoo!  Quiltscapes is now a (dot) com!!!

My blog, formerly known as
h t t p : / / q u i l t s c a p e s q u i l t i n g . b l o g s p o t . c o m
is now officially

Isn't that terrific?  It's a thing of beauty!  So precise, half the size of my former handle, and says exactly what I want it to say.  You might ask why the change?  (OK, you asked, here goes!)

Well, besides the fact that there is a fabric store out there that uses for their store website, (which, it seems, has nothing to do with their store name, location or otherwise), and the beautiful quiltscapes artwork by Rebecca Barker (which I only discovered AFTER I had registered my business name 8-1/2 years ago with my state), the name Quiltscapes is what came to mind when I began longarm quilting.  It was how I percieved the texture of a quilted quilt, the environment I can create from a flat piece of fabric with my stitches, and how a finished quilt becomes something beyond just the fabrics, somewhere between 2-D and 3-D, an almost living thing, brought to life with my quilting.  I know, deep, huh?  Quiltscapes.
And the extra "QS"?  The perfect acronym for just about everything else in my quilty world:
QS =
Quilting Services (longarm business)
Quilt School (classes)
Quiltscapes Store (patterns)
Quilt Snippets (simple projects from/for the sewing room)
Qs (as in "Cues" or Tutorials, Tips, Tricks & Tools - This one may have to be "QTs" as in "cuties", lol!)
Qs (as in ?s and Querys, as in "Ask Deonn".  I get lots of these ?s daily - phone calls, emails, comments, etc.  I'll be starting a page specifically for this soon.)
Thanks to Amy, my Personal Technological Consultant and best friend's IT-savvy daughter, my old name automatically directs to the new handle, nice!

At any rate, this little blog is growing up - getting to be a big girl now with her own (dot) com.  According to my own big grown-up girls, she is also due for a makeover. Soon.  'Til then,
Happy Blogging!

  1. Congrats! I'm excited to see your updates!

  2. Congratulations Deonn. That is fantastic (yes and very grown up)

  3. Congratulations Deonn. That is fantastic (yes and very grown up)

  4. Try contacting Pinterest and letting them know about the name change, perhaps there is something they can do about the alert.

    1. You might need to change the url of the website on your Pinterest profile and re-verify it.

    2. Thanks, Amy - great suggestions!

  5. Congratulations! Perhaps you are the new "Dear Abby" of quilting! :)

  6. Wow, this is great. It looks so good. I want to be like you when I grow up.

So happy you stopped by for a visit! Thank you!
