My Perfect Picnic!

Welcome to my stop along the trail of A Perfect Picnic Blog Hop!

Thanks to  Madame Samm @ SewWeQuilt for all the behind-the-scenes work to set up this terrific hop, and to Mary @ I Piece 2 - Mary for organizing and cheering us along!  Here's the main link just in case you might have missed any of the wonderful picnics and fabulous quilts so far on the hop:  A Perfect Picnic:
Getting ready to PICNIC?
A special thanks to Petersboro Basket Co. and Riley Blake Designs for sponsoring this terrific Hop!!  You may already know how much I love the folks at RBD - I hang out there with regular "How to Quilt" and "Sewing Basics" tutorials on their website, like the one in the previous post!
Now, here's my recipe for a Perfect Picnic:

Pack a perfectly wonderful, easy meal:  (See this delicious recipe HERE)

Add the perfect company...
Lay out the perfect picnic quilt...

...Then try to find the perfect setting!

Maybe by a stream...

...Along a roadside...

...In the sagebrush...

...On a rock by a lake...

...On an old ranch where the buffalo roam...

...not even kidding!...we decided not to throw out a big, bright red quilt at this time...  (see VIDEO)

...By a lake...

... that is, Jackson Lake at Signal Mountain Lodge in Grand Teton National Park!  I worked there as a waitress and breakfast chef between college semesters 35-36 years ago...  one of my favorite places of all time!

...On a snowbank...??

Yeah, we decided to hike the long way to the picnic grounds around a lake... still a little early in the season.  This was our trail..  I was a little tired... no problem.  The laminate backing wipes right off!

...In the forest... (are those huckleberry bushes??)

...In a pasture...

...On a fence...

...On a bank along a River...

Yep.  A perfectly wonderful picnic, perfect company, perfectly lovely settings, with a perfect quilt for the occasion!

Houndstooth Picnic Quilt (Pattern HERE) with Riley Blake solids and black & white Tuxedo prints;
Riley Blake cotton laminate backing in tone-on-tone red dots and Tuxedo prints.
I added a flap with a handle and velcro for the perfect pack-along quilt.
