EZ Dresden Quilting Challenge

Here's where traditional quilting merges with modern innovation!  The Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild has partnered with Simplicity/EZ Quilting to bring you a fantastic, fun challenge!

What's a Dresden, or more specifically, a Dresden Plate?
Basically, little wedges of fabric stitched together to form a circle.
Here's what Google turned up:  DRESDEN

STEP 1)  Kick-start your Summer sewing as you enjoy the SLMQG Blog Hop June 2 - 15 for a "Daily Dose of Dresden" inspiration.  See the great projects made by members of the guild and some special guests.  Plus, you'll have daily chances to win your own EZ Dresden Quilting Ruler, designed by Darlene Zimmerman.  This challenge celebrates Darlene's 20th anniversary designing great quilting tools for EZ Quilting.

  4. I was feeling stuck before I went "modern" so I have this definition: modern quilters are free. It doesn't have to match - the strange juxtapositions are the captivating thing. It doesn't have to match colors. Or your decor. Or seams, corners, points. You don't have to figure out how much yardage to buy. If you are short, stick in something else and that will be the part of your quilt that draws ooooos and ahhhhhhs. For me, after stressing on getting it "right" for most of my life, modern quilting sets me free.

I would definitely use those rulers if I were so fortunate as to be randomly selected by a machine. Meanwhile, I offer my words because a comment can be, IMHO, as interesting as the colors and patterns in a modern quilt. Have a fabulous day, everybody!
