SLMQG Dresden Hop - Winner!

And the winner of my EZ Dresden Ruler and Joel Dewberry prints...

DIANN!!
(sending a note)

Congratulations!  Here's her response to the question... what makes a "Modern" quilt?

"I think simplicity is often a characteristic of modern quilts,
as shown is frequent use of solids and large scale.
It doesn't always work that way, though. I just know modern when I see it...."

And thanks to all of you for your great comments and responses.  To me,
"Modern" =  Everything old is new again.
Like my kids listening to 70s music, new to their ears, but I know all of the lyrics.  "Ba-de-ya, say do you remember, Ba-de-ya, dancing in September..."

Now, with all the inspiration you've seen, and how easy to use the dresden ruler, (EZ, that is!) it's your turn to make a dresden project and enter it in the quilt show on Sept 1st - 6th for some  AWESOME prizes and opportunities!!  See Slmqg.com for all the details!

By the way, here is a link to my tutorial all about preparing your shapes for applique' over at Riley Blake Designs:

  3. I love the black and yellow. Jill showed me some of your quilts today. I told her I was going to scold you for not labeling your work. But I loved them anyway.
