2012 UFO Recap

Thought I should account for my lofty goal last year of completing one quilt per month during the past year.  Didn't quite make it!  I think I have Quilter's Attention Deficit Disorder... too many pretty things to distract me from my goals!  Here are the results:

Riley Blake Sweet Nothings Sampler - add mitered borders, quilt, bind... DONE!!
This is the finished quilt from my "How To Quilt" tutorial series for Riley Blake Designs.
Added a few more 9-patch and alternate hourglass sashing blocks
along with a triple mitered border to grow the quilt.   Love it!

Rust/Maroon/Black Bloomin' Rectangles - quilt, bind.  DONE!!
Finished for daughter, Lauren who spent 18 months in Japan.
I quilted Japanese Kanji symbols for Faith, Hope, Charity & Love
along with dates and names of friends, cities, etc.

Star Medallion - quilt, bind
put back on the shelf to wait for the quilter.

HMQS Riley Blake Design Challenge - design, piece, quilt, bind  DONE!!
"Tag, You're It!  A Scannable Quilt!"
Finished in April 2012 in time for the show.  Honorable Mention award.
(Plus an invitation to make a new one for Quilt Trends Magazine)
with fellow "Midnight Quilters", Amy Strickland and Debbie Proctor.

A Soldier's Star Lap Quilt  - piece top, add mitered borders, quilt, bind DONE!!
Finished in time for Memorial Day for Jordan, my soldier son, returned from Afghanistan.
A Soldier's Star pattern HERE
Carpenter's Wife - quilt, bind
still hanging in there!

Drunkard's Path Table Topper - piece, quilt, rip, re-quilt, bind
added a couple of new steps to finish this one...

Buggy Barn Witches - FIND the blocks (yeah! found the blocks),
have yet to piece top, quilt, bind

Bella Bella Paper-Pieced Mosaic Circle Wall Hanging
finish paper-piecing, applique, quilt, bind.

Friends for Christmas Wall Hanging - quilt, bind, embellish.  Oops.
Save it for next year.  Again. We'll probably just tape it to the wall like usual.
Friends for Christmas STORY

Well, that's it.  Finished FOUR whole quilts on my list.  I know it's good to have a list of goals, but sometimes other things came up.  :)  During this past year I also sewed a whole lot of little snippets for the sewing room, taught classes, wrote tutorials, participated in a bunch of Blog Hops, quilted for clients, and even sewed a couple of new quilts for myself!  Plus, got my kids home from the nether regions of the world then started singing with a choir which is like a part-time job.  Wonder what the next year will entail??  Maybe by some miracle, that Christmas quilt will get done!  Meanwhile, I'm gonna go hug my kids...
