Made of little wedges stitched together to form a circular design, a Dresden Plate, as it was commonly called, gained its popularity in the 1920s and 1930s.
Cut out 10 wedges (20 = a full circle):
Lay them out in an order you like:
Fold the top edge of each wedge in half, right sides together, and chain-stitch:
Press seams open:
Turn right side out to form points:
Press:
Stitch wedges together into pairs, then stitch the pairs together:
Applique' to an 18" background piece:
I used this half-dresden in black & white as a study

It's on my 2013 UFO list to finish. What do you think?
A center block for a Round Robin exchange? A Pillow? A Wallhanging?
Maybe I'll get it done by the end of this hop!!
