And a piggy...
I do love working with wool, especially wool applique' - don't have to turn any edges under, hardly have to fuss at all! I usually whip stitch. Here is my Woolie Flowers wall hanging. Wool applique' on a scrappy cotton backing, prairie point inner border and scalloped corners. I especially like the wool/cotton combo - best of both worlds. This won 3rd place at HMQS a few years back, and now hangs in my living room. ♥♥
I've had some fun with wool felting, too. At Girlfriends' Day Out retreat last weekend, I got to try out a Babylock Embellisher, which is basically a sewing machine that does free-motion felting/couching. Felted down some wool cutouts, a bit of yarn, a bit of roving to embellish a fleece winter scarf. Sweet.
Hangin' out with the DIY Dish Girls - here's Kris, owner of My Girlfriend's Quilt Shoppe.
Her twin sister Kim, (of Kimberbell Designs and You Can Make This)
had a great class to introduce some fun new quilty gadgets,
including Lori Holt's half-hexie ruler... (featured in my latest video with RBD).
I didn't get a good picture with Kim; but she looks a lot like her sister ;)
Oh, sorry, I got off on a tangent... now be sure to hop by these other sweet wool-lovin' hops today.
